How to: Beautiful Flower Pork Dumplings

While a bit unconventional, it’s super beautiful and will dress up any meal you make!

■ Cooking time: Approximately 80 minutes (except time to cool)
■ Ingredients cost: about 1,220 yen

■ Ingredients:
Dumpling stuffing
・ Ground pork ... 250 g
・ Grated ginger ... 1 teaspoon
・ Onion ... 1/2 piece
・ Katakuriko (Potato starch) ... 25 g
・ Oyster sauce ... 1 tbsp
・ Soy sauce ... 1/2 tbsp
・ Sake ・ 1/2 tablespoon
・ Sesame oil ... 1 tbsp
・ Salt and pepper ... a little bit

Dumpling skin
・ All purpose flour ... 400 g
・ Mochi Flour ... 100 g
・ Carrot powder ... 20 g
・ Sweet potato powder ... 20 g
・Hot water: 280 ml

・ Salad oil ... suitable amount

■ Steps
[Preparation]
Add all ingredients for the dumpling stuffing into a bowl, mix, and let sit in a refrigerator for 1 hour.

[White dumpling skin]
Add 200g of dumpling skin powder and add 140ml of hot water and knead
【Orange dumpling skin】
Add carrot powder to 100 g of dumpling skin powder. Mix a little and then add 70ml of hot water and knead.
【Purple dumpling skin】
Add purple sweet potato powder to 100 g of dumpling skin powder. Mix a little and then add 70ml of hot water and knead.
Chill each in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
2. Divide the chilled skins into two equal parts and combine them into a bi-color skin and stretch them into a bar. Cut 30g each and roll with a rolling pin.
3. Arrange the white x orange skins so that they overlap in three, and place the stuffing slightly above the middle. Break the skin from the bottom and wrap it around from the end. Add water to the end of the wrap.
4. Put plenty of stuffing on the white × purple skin and add water to the rim. Roll it over so that the ends are attached and put water on it.
5. Heat the salad oil on a hot plate and arrange the wrapped dumplings. Pour hot water, cover and heat on medium heat for 10 minutes. Add sesame oil and heat for 2 minutes on high heat to complete
