Haw Par Villa is an old theme park located along Pasir Panjang Road, Singapore. The park that used to be called Tiger Balm Garden, built by Burmese-Chinese brothers Aw Boon Haw and Aw Boon Par, the same brothers that developed Tiger Balm. The park built in 1937 contains over 1,000 statues and 150 giant dioramas depicting scenes from Chinese mythology, folklore, legends, history and illustrations. The most popular attraction in Haw Par Villa is the Ten Courts of Hell, which features gruesome depictions of Hell in Chinese mythology and Buddhism. The pathway used to be a river, at the old times everybody can go around the theme park using boat. Definitely some history that’s worth exploring!
